Q: What Front Runner Racks can I use with my Rev Tent?
A: So, there are 2 ways use the Rev Tent with a Front Runner Rack. The first is for transportation only. To get your Rev Tent from A to B, you can secure the Rev Tent to any Front Runner Rack with a tray that is 44” or longer. This is a 6 slat or longer rack. The second use is for sleeping on a Front Runner Rack. You will need at least 11 slats in length (84” or longer) and a width of at least 48” (1 size up from Front Runner’s narrowest roof rack).
Q: Why would I use a Front Runner roof rack for transporting the Rev Tent but not for sleeping on in the Rev Tent?
A: If your Front Runner rack is smaller than 48” x 84” / 1219 mm x 2133 mm, the rack will not be large enough to support the open Rev Tent. But you can still use your Front Runner rack to transport the tent to your camping destination.
Q: I have a Front Runner rack, but I want to free up space for other gear. How else can I transport the Rev Tent?
A: The Rev Tent is only 25 lbs and has multiple mounting points. It is possible to set the tent on top of some flatter gear for transport. For example, on top of 4 Front Runner Wolf Packs. Or on top of a set of Max Trax. It is also possible to carry lighter gear on top of the Rev Tent. You can also fit the Rev Tent inside many vehicles. The closed Rev Tent is 47.25” x 42.25” x 8.5 / 120cm x 107cm x 22cm.
Q: Do I need a Front Runner rack to use the Rev Tent?
A: No. The Rev Tent can be transported on many brand roof racks, attached to all types of cross bars, and even carried directly on a vehicle roof. The Rev Tent can even be transported inside many vehicles. If you want to sleep on top of the vehicle with the Rev Tent mounted directly to the rack, you will need a Front Runner, Yakima or Rhino Rack 47.25” x 42.25” x 8.5” T / 120 cm x 107 cm x 22 cm or larger.
INSTALLATION WARNING:
• Do not over tighten. Repeated over tightening may damage the tent grommet.
• Check mounting points frequently as vibrations may cause Eye Nuts to loosen.
• Store Eye Nuts on your roof rack when not in use or in the supplied C6 dry bag.
