C6 OUTDOOR AND THE ENVIRONMENT

We live in a pickle. Metaphorically. We at C6 live to play in the great outdoors, while at the same time, we must protect the great outdoors.

 Here are a few ways we're trying to unravel the paradox:

Packaging.  We minimize the amount of packaging used to protect our products during transport. And what we do use, we prioritize recyclable material. We encourage our customers to re-use at best, or recycle at worst, our boxes. If you’re really creative, you can even use most of our packaging for kindling! 

Dry Bags.  We pack many of our smaller products in dry bags.  These bags can be used to store your C6 Outdoor gear when not in use, or can be used for whatever you want to keep protected from the elements when outdoors. This packaging should last for many lifetimes of re-use. 

Durable Products.  C6 Outdoors products are designed to last. If our products never see a landfill in our generation, or for that matter, our grandchildren's generation, we count that as a win.

Lightweight Products.  We keep the load down. Our design philosophy is that over building is underwhelming.  Big hunks of steel hanging off a vehicle is so last year. The less resources needed to get our gear from A to B, the better. Fun Fact:  Using the Rev Tent as a roof top tent with a roof rack weighs 80% less than a similar traditional Roof Top Tent combo. 

If we can bring awareness and appreciation to the wonders of the world around us with minimal environmental impact, we’re ahead in the game. If it leads to inspire future generations to protect and preserve, we’ve won the game.        

 

**RE: Use of Flame Retardants on our tents. We are legally required to apply flame retardant chemicals to our tent products. Those products are clearly labeled. The outdoor industry is lobbying to update the antiquated regulations regarding these chemicals and the moment there is a change in the laws we will update the affected products in the C6 Outdoor line.
