Q: What Front Runner Racks can I use with my Rev Tent?
A: So, there are 2 ways use the Rev Tent with a Front Runner Rack. The first is for transportation only. To get your Rev Tent from A to B, you can secure the Rev Tent to any Front Runner Rack with a tray that is 44” or longer. This is a 6 slat or longer rack. The second use is for sleeping on a Front Runner Rack. You will need at least 11 slats in length (84” or longer) and a width of at least 48” (1 size up from Front Runner’s narrowest roof rack).
Q: I only want to sleep on the vehicle sometimes. How easy is it to move the Rev Tent to ground?
A: Very. If the tent is already open and set up, just unscrew the 6 Eye Nuts, should take under a minute, and lift the tent off and place it on the ground. If the tent is closed, just remove the 4 Eye Nuts. No tools are needed. The original Rev Tent weighs only 25 lbs, so it can be moved by one person. If it’s windy or you think it’s going to rain, you will want to stake the tent in and attach the guy lines to keep the tent taught for proper water run off…
Q: Do I need a Front Runner rack to use the Rev Tent?
A: No. The Rev Tent can be transported on many brand roof racks, attached to all types of cross bars, and even carried directly on a vehicle roof. The Rev Tent can even be transported inside many vehicles. If you want to sleep on top of the vehicle with the Rev Tent mounted directly to a roof rack, you will need a Front Runner, Yakima or Rhino Rack 48” x 84” / 1220mm x 2134mm or larger.
Q: What is the difference between the Sleep and Transport mount kit and just the Transport Mount Kit?
A: 2 Eyes nuts and bolts. If you use the Rev Tent to sleep on a Front Runner rack, you will need 6 mounts in the Sleep and Transport Kit. Just to transport the Rev Tent, you only need 4. So you save a few bucks if you only use the rack to move the Rev Tent from A to B.
INSTALLATION WARNING:
• Do not over tighten. Repeated over tightening may damage the tent grommet.
• Check mounting points frequently as vibrations may cause Eye Nuts to loosen.
• Store Eye Nuts on your roof rack when not in use or in the supplied C6 dry bag.
